Open Water Inspiration Days
Each quarter, every team member gets a full day to step away from work and follow whatever sparks their curiosity. No rules. No expectations. No questions asked.

We know that when people have the space to explore what excites them, they return with fresh energy and new ways of thinking. It’s not just about taking a break—it’s about nurturing curiosity and staying open to unexpected ideas.
At Open Water, we believe that inspiration is a powerful force that shapes how we think, work, and connect. When people feel inspired, they show up differently. They’re more engaged, creative, and open to new ideas. And that energy doesn’t just stay within our team—it directly impacts how we work with our clients.
That’s why we created Inspiration Days. Each quarter, every team member gets a full day to step away from work and follow whatever sparks their curiosity. No rules. No expectations. No questions asked.
Sometimes, colleagues are so inspired they choose to share their discoveries with the team. Others keep their inspiration to themselves, and that’s completely fine too.
Take Zoe, Open Water’s Operations and Projects Manager who set out to rediscover her local library on her inspiration day and came away uninspired - only to sit down and find inspiration on her own bookshelf. Her dive into Ikigai, the Japanese concept of purpose and fulfilment sparked a conversation with the team and around how we help connect clients to their own purpose.
Ikigai is found at the intersection of:
Zoe explained that Ikigai isn’t just about achieving big goals; it’s about the joy found in small, meaningful moments. Just like when she sat down after failing to find inspiration at the library and found it in an unread book in her own living room.
For our clients, Inspiration days make sure they’re partnering with a team that is constantly learning, evolving, and bringing fresh perspectives to the table. Whether it’s a new way to frame a challenge, a unique insight that sparks a breakthrough, or simply the energy we bring into every conversation, inspiration helps us drive meaningful change.
